The aim of Open Studios is to bring artists and local people together providing opportunities for the public to visit studios, homes and workshops of people working in a wide range of arts including: visual art, sculpture, textile, jewelry, photography, installation, performance and video art. The visitors have a possibility to talk directly to artists about the techniques they use and the passion that inspire them.

Open Studios is an annual event. First Open Studios took place in 2011, when 167 artists opened their studios all over Tallinn. The event was in the program of Tallinn 2011 European Capital of Culture.
